2012 Boulder Lake Ski & Snowshoe Race Cancelation The 9th Annual Boulder Lake Ski & Snowshoe Race presented by Salomon has experienced the most unusual winter ever with little snow and record high temps. With the forecast this week not calling for a decent snowfall, we’ve made the decision to cancel the race for the first time in 9 years. Those who have registered will be able to transfer their entry into next year’s race. The trails are currently brown and it would take roughly 8” to make for decent conditions. The pine tree coverage in places and swamp crossings on the snowshoe course would require a snowfall of this amount to make for good coverage. It’s a decision any race director dreads making, but we hope that by letting people transfer their entry into next year we can keep spirits up in this unusual season.
